Creating Laser Mapping model

To create laser mapping model:

1. Take out stone from Helium Rough scanner if you just have been creating shadow model for this diamond.

2. Uniformly paint the diamond with whitener without removing it from Holder. Remember that diamond should not be removed from the Holder.

3. Wait until paint is dry out well

4. Place back the holder with painted stone into scanner again.

5. Load the same Project if shadow model has already made

6. Click on button Scan LM

7. Scan Laser mapping panel appears

- Select Scan mode

Small < 1.00 For the small cavity
Medium 1.00-5.00 For the Medium cavity
Large 5.00-10.00 For the large cavity
Hi accuracy > 10.00 For the very deep cavity

- Correct LM should always be selected by check-box

- Remove checkbox on Scan Shadow if you have made Shadow model for the same stone earlier. Very important.

- Other setting should be like on screenshot Scan Laser mapping panel above

8. Click button Scan and Build to start laser mapping and wait.

When scanning process is finish new models will be created: simple-LM, middle-LM and complex-LM. These models have different accuracy. It uses on different stages of optimization process.

We recommend to make checking accuracy of constructing laser mapping model by the same way how it described for shadow model. But for laser mapping model difference between calculated and real weight should be less than for shadow model.

Note. If some problems acquires with laser mapping scanning we recommend to save laser mapping data and call to support.

To save laser mapping data:

Click on the cross of panel Scan laser mapping:

Select Save Laser Mapping Data as... from menu:
