Set holder plane

Setting plane of holder allows to avoid creating a 3d model of stone with unnecessary parts. If not set plane of holder the machine will recognize a holder as a part of crystal and will include it into 3d model.

To set holder plane:

1. Make photo of stone in a scanner:

  • Click on button Photo in top frame of Scene.
  • Photo of crystal on holder appears:

2. If photo is too dark and does not allow to see exact border between holder and crystal we recommend to tune lighting of scanner or just make one more photo with opened cover of scanner. An outer light of room should fall on the stone.

3. The hardware lighting is tuned by the follow way:

  • Press button Lighting in dropdown main menu
  • Panel Lighting appears

  • The panel allows to switch and tune modes of lighting.

For example, there are two modes of lighting on the screenshots below (cover of scanner is closed).

4. When photo is obtained press button Holder .

5. Red line appears. Red line represents a holder plane. It can be moved by mouse top and bottom.

By default the red line appears at the bottom of scene.

6. Now move red line into the border of crystal and holder. We recommend to zoom photo for better accuracy. To make zooming enter coefficient of zooming in a small window it top frame of Scene

7. The plane of holder is created. Now all parts below red line will not be counted in a construction of 3d model.
